Whoever comes out on top between Carlow and Laois will face the winners of Kildare and Offaly in the semi-final.

Offaly hurling was in a state of shock following a heavy defeat to Westmeath at senior level in the Leinster round-robin phase but they have turned things around to set up a Leinster quarter-final against Laois.

They beat Westmeath at this stage last season before bowing out to Wexford in the semi-final.

Kildare are making the step up to the top grade having played in the ‘B’ championship last year where they were defeated by Wicklow.  In 2014 they had won the ‘B’ All-Ireland title.

With Kildare somewhat of an unknown quantity this is a tough one to call.
